FINALLY!!!!!

So by now I’m sure everybody has heard the good news- Hillary ‘I want to try and take over the world because I’m a woman’ Clinton finally submitted the other day, and she is NO longer in the race to be president. It is now Obama and Mccain. I guess I do feel really bad about badmouthing hillary, but seriously, she had some strange policies. I understand having Bill behind her was a strong point but come on. Will he help THAT much? He’s a good guy but he doesn’t like to make decisions, and I doubt he would really know how to fix what’s going on with our economy today. I’ve noticed that gas prices came to a halt. They even dropped a penny. Dare I say that they may be going down soon? I wish. I seriously have not been driving anywhere unless it’s necessary to try and save gas. I pretty much drive to Julie’s house to ride and check on the horses and that’s it.

I really hope Mccain doesn’t win. He’s much too old to be in office (he’s 71!!! 72 in a few months!) and all he wants is war, war, lower taxes, war. He is also against helping people out in this housing crisis. I was reading this magazine article (in glamour actually- who knew) about the mortgage crisis. There’s this lady who is an aerospace engineer, making 120,000 dollars yearly, and she’s actually facing the fact that they’re trying to take her house away. HOW does that happen?! Mccain stated that he does not believe in helping people when losing their houses is clearly their fault. He’s not blaming the economy- he’s blaming the people. How on earth is staying in war, using billions and billions more dollars, and not helping anybody in the housing crisis going to lower taxes??? The guy is nuts, honestly, and he’s only going to hurt us worse. It’s a fact that he doesn’t know much really about what’s going on with our economy and how to fix it. If people are out of homes and not spending money because they merely CAN’T, our economy cannot flourish and is going to keep going down the drain. Stupidity at it’s finest. And I’m sorry if I’m offending ANYBODY who likes Mccain, or thinks he is better than Obama (Hi char! If you even read this) but the man has contradicting points.

I DO agree with Mccain on one thing, and this is why I claim to be neither liberal or conservative. I agree with Mccain on the fact that the government should intervene less with our businesses, and let us remain purely capitalistic. Less government intervention=more money in the economy. They just mess everything up anyway. Liberals believe in the government intervening ALOT to help solve problems- whether it be in social and family life, or business. They want government in their bedroom. While I know that Obama is very liberal, I don’t feel like he will push TOO much of the government intervention issue without it being for the better. He knows what he’s doing, and I know that he won’t go overboard in having the government stick it’s dirty little nose into everything. A little is GOOD, when they actually HELP. I think he understands thats.

On another note- Julie is out of town so I’ve been checking up on the horses and riding as well. I had the best moment yesterday EVER. Julie suggested riding bareback every now and then with Fancy and just working on her headset since we think her back needs to be adjusted. So yesterday when I went to check up on them and put sunscreen on Dixie, I decided to hop on bareback. I left Dixie in the field with us just because she has sunburn and whenever I try to put the halter on her it grazes her burn… that and since everyone is gone from the house I think they’re lonely and she goes nuts when I put her in the other field. Anyway, I hopped on bareback and just sat on her while she grazed, and I had dixie next to me too. The sun was setting and I was all alone, rubbing Dixie’s ears and sitting on Fancy, and it was just PEACEFUL. So peaceful. It totally put me back to when I owned my last horse.. as I said earlier I loved riding bareback and I would always go out to ride, then stay on her back while she cooled down and grazed. It was just such a serene moment. I really do miss having my own horse. You can’t replace the bond that you get from owning your own horse by riding at a stable or someone else’s. It’s there- but deep down you know that it’s different. I plan on getting a horse again once I’m out of school (I think). I just need to settle down first and manage my money in order to do it (once I get a job in the real world).

PS!!!!!! The WWDC conference is today (for apple) and they’re supposed to be unveiling the new 3G iphone! I’m stalking it minute by minute because they’re also supposed to be releasing the new redesigned macbooks, but there’s been a rumor that they’re getting pushed off another month. I….. am a dork. and extremely excited. Anyway- just felt like sharing. Bye!

oh woe

I went out to ride yesterday after slaving on my essay for a few hours. I’m a little hesitant to ride Fancy hard because I know she’s in pain, so what I did was just hop on bareback and ride around working on her headset. Boy was THAT different, I haven’t ridden bareback in years! I used to ride my horse bareback all the time, I LOVED it (that’s one of the joys of owning your own horse) and I forgot how slippery it was. I must say though that Fancy is really nice to ride bareback. Her gaits are a little flat (which is NOT ideal, but it worked out in my favor) so I just trotted and cantered her around for a bit. I think I’m gonna ask Julie if I can ride Dixie today. In a few months I have to try out for the Equestrian team and I need to start practicing ASAP. Plus, Dixie is just amazing. Anyway, I know this wasn’t the most thrilling post on earth (and probably torture for you non-horse people) but I’ll come up with something a little later. I did want to write about the earthquake again, and stupid Hillary Clinton’s ego. I have a few thoughts on women’s rights… you’ll see. BYE! :)

Hillary whooooo??

I hope Obama gets elected for president. That’s who I’m voting for. Everytime I watch Clinton talk I get disgusted. I can see through everything she’s proposing. I was listening to a late night show that was (not surprisingly) mocking Clinton, and everything that is said about her is true. She’s been in the white house for about 15 years. She’s sucked into the way of politics and has the mindset of “say what they want to hear, do what you planned originally”. I know a lot of people are saying that she should be elected because 1) she’s a woman (which I seriously don’t care about. I’m all for women being powerful and all that jazz, but this is a clear cut case of the woman who is running having the possibility to completely screw this country up more than *gasp* Bush. Wait, that’s not even possible. Silly me.) and 2) because she’s technically backed by Bill Clinton who has had some presidency experience (sans the sexual rendezvous in the oval office. That’s why I say “some”.). Now, Clinton WAS a good present. But he was also very passive. A little too passive. Bush has clearly fucked up our economy beyond repair, but at least he DID something. Clinton just kind of avoided everything. Avoidance does work I suppose, but I think it’s time we actually have a President who is willing to work with the country and not just tell us what they think is right to do, and then enforce it regardless of what they’re ACTUALLY doing to us. Referring back to my point about bush actually doing things …Bush “did” things… like try to bomb everybody, starts wars, and hunt down katrina to bring her to justice (haha… if you didn’t hear about that it’s pretty funny). There’s a reason why he’s the most hated president in history and also the butt of every political joke in the 21st century. Hillary Clinton has a bogus healthcare system she’s trying to push through. She wants universal healthcare, and healthcare provided to EVERYBODY. The concept itself is not bad, but the results will be horrible. It’s not just going to be given to us either. We have to pay for it even if we can’t afford it. If you don’t have the luxury of having your parents pay for healthcare (which thankfully I was blessed with) then you’re pretty much screwed. You’re going to have penalties and fines to pay, when you just should have paid for the damn healthcare to begin with. She had mentioned once that she wants to make Doctors government workers. Which means medical school would be more affordable, and the standards would be lowered. Do you REALLY want some low grade doctor working on you, even though you have free healthcare? No, it doesn’t add up. You’ll have to send out to get medical operations that seem “out of the ordinary” or possibly “unneccesary” to get approved by a board. This alone will take a few months time, 2 minimum. I’m sorry, but when it comes to medicine I don’t think that’s a place to skimp. I think our healthcare is just fine. I know medicare and medicaid is something that we all take out of our paychecks (unwillingly) but at least it’s going to people who can’t afford it. If you want good healthcare, you have to work hard to get it. It’s not like we’re not providing healthcare at all, and there’s alot of pro-bono work that gets done for cases that are extreme. I probably sound like an asshole right about now, and I don’t meant to come off like I’m sitting on a high horse, but I don’t want out system to get any worse than it already is. Obama wants to do something about the problems we have right now, and work them from the inside out. He actually wants to change the way things are, rather than mask our poverty and turn us into socialists. Oh, did I mention that Hilary wants to push us towards socialism? She wants everybody to be equal, and have the same opportunities… which is nice. But not attainable. That’s like saying we want world peace. No matter how hard we work towards it, we can’t control human nature. It is in human nature to strive for the best, be above and beyond, and be competitive. We want to be the best, have the best, make the most out of our lives. Why take away capitalism? One reason why our country is considered the land of the free is because we’re allowed to build our own success. Yes, it’s unfair that some people are filthy rich and could build a swimming pool of their money and swim laps in it, but at the same time, they DID something to get there. It wasn’t just handed to them. And if it was, at least their parents had done something to get there. It was all hard work, no matter what way you look at it. Why should the rich be handicapped for persevering to get there? Instead of punishing the rich, find ways to help the poor. Instead of whining about how our country is in so much poverty, DO something about it. Help the poor. Taking away things people already have is not going to achieve anything. This is why I’m voting for Obama. It will be a madhouse if Clinton gets elected, she’s going to ruin us. Notice I haven’t said anything about Mccain … … ready? waaaait for it…. Yup. That’s what I have to say about him. Nothing. I don’t want him in office, he’s too damn old. And for all of you who don’t want Obama to be president just because he’s black, grow up. He can do a better job than anybody we’ve had in office and anybody else running. Don’t let color be an issue, that’s for the narrow minded and judgmental.

So another thing I heard about are Blackwater troops? I haven’t done much research into it, and I only heard about it briefly, but I understand that Blackwater is a private organization that sends troops to Iraq to complete missions aside from the federal governments key points. They are a little more ruthless than the american troops and don’t necessarily follow the US guidelines. What I don’t understand is that yes, they came over here, they bombed us, we suffered, people died… they’re terrorists. But terrorists are not only confined to Iraq. We are terrorists as well. No, I’m not anti-america or any of that, don’t take this post the wrong way. My professor was talking about this a few weeks ago and it really does make you think. A terrorist by definition is this-

1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.
2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

Yes, it is true that they fit this definition. OH NO. the blog stole my font size… it won’t let me change it back. Hmmm.. alright well ignore that then. Anyways, yes, they provoked terror in the American people. But aren’t we, by definition, terrorists as well? They are acting through religion and private groups as terrorists and suicide bombers. They are doing what their culture (and not the whole culture, a sub culture) tells them is right. Well we’re storming into their land, terrorizing people who haven’t done ANYTHING at all in search for the terrorists who afflicted our country with the horrid 9/11 situation. We’re killing tons of people in the process. Meanwhile, now we have this “blackwater” group, who is a private organization, acting like troops and fighting over there. WE are terrorizing them. Keep an open mind here, think about it how I am. In their minds, we have people over there killing for the will of OTHER people and groups that they have no clue about it. They feel about us the way we feel about them. It’s not right. I seriously think America needs to step back and rethink this whole strategy. Politics has turned into a big hypocrisy, and we’re out there doing exactly EVERYTHING that we stand against. I dunno. This is sounded a little rebellious so I better stop here. I may continue to write later, but vote for Obama. Don’t let Clinton sink her pointy little claws into the white house.
