WOOHOO!!

^ UCF Mascot

I just got my grades back. I got a 3.6, which isn’t great but I’m just happy that I actually got a B in calculus because I was starting to blank out during his tests. Like I said before, I can do the work and I know what I’m doing, but when I get to the test and under pressure I just can’t function. It was becoming a big problem but I got over a 90 on the final so I’m happy!!!!!! I start my summer class in a weeks time, but it’s an online humanities so it’s just writing. Shouldn’t be challenging.

AAAAANYways. I’m really excited to go to UCF. This is one of the reason’s- http://www.ucfequestrian.com/huntseat.htm

That’s right, they have an equestrian club there. It’s not so much the club I’m interested in, but I’m really interested in the hunt-seat team. They compete all over Florida and are an intercollegiate team. You have to try-out in the beginning of the semester and there’s only 25 currently competing, so I’m fairly sure it’s hard to get into. But I’m not too worried, I’ve been jumping since I was like … 11 and riding since I was 8. It’s just awesome because I can finally get back into showing again and their team is really competitive. They have other teams too (dressage team) but I never really got too far into dressage. I used to know some basics but I’m all about the hunter/jumper. To me there’s nothing better than approaching a jump and flying over it with a 1000 pound beast under you that you’re in perfect sync with. Yup. They also have a live horse mascot called pegasus that is kept as a secret location. The ucf knight (who is also picked) is kept a secret and they ride out during the games and do some rearing and random awesome things to introduce the team. I thought that was awesome because one) I love knights in armor and 2) Andalusians are amazingly pretty horses (which is what pegasus is. I did some research). SO EXCITED!! The neat thing is that when they show, they draw horse’s names out of hats and they don’t get to school them before they go out to show. It’s supposed to show your talent and skill in riding when you compete on a horse that you’re not familiar with. A big part of showing is knowing how your horse reacts to things and what they need help on, so it’s really hard I’m sure to go out and jump on some random horse you don’t know. I really wish I still had my horse, then I could just use him :) I’m still working really hard to get Fancy to stop being so hollow on one side. She really had me at my wit’s end last time I rode, she was perfect the time before that, then the next day when I went she just reverted back to how she was before. It’s getting really frustrating because I’ve always been able to fix a problem while riding but she just isn’t. She is jumping better however. In an hour I’m heading over there to ride her and take her over some jumps. It’s a beautiful day outside!! I’ll update on how riding went later on. Oh, I removed my last post. I felt it was too controversial and I could see it burning holes in people’s mind regarding the whole “It’s actually a burden to be skinny” thing. If you reallllllllllly want to read it (which like 8 people already did) you can email me and I can make it unprivate.
