What an amazing day!!!

Okay sooo I know I blogged earlier, but I just ate a bunch of chinese food and I’m relaxing.. I figure I may as well blog while I digest this greasy, nasty, yet utterly and delightfully tasty food. I took a bunch of pictures of Fancy and Dixie today. I took a few minutes and edited a couple of them… they came out really good!! If you look in my facebook pictures, the first couple are edited.. you can tell the difference. Anyways, I exercised Fancy for a while today. Remember how I said a few posts back how I was trying to get her to pick up her feet while she was jumping? Well I don’t know if something came over her today, or if I’ve just been actually teaching her well, but I set up 4 jumps today and let her have a go at them, and she was AMAZING!!!! She jumped well over each jump, and instead of approaching them at a trot, I let her canter through them. She had the most fluid jump… she cleared it by a ton! I could feel the impulsion as she was taking off over each of them. So I’m going to give myself a pat on the back. I hate when I can’t accomplish things, and not having her pick up her feet was beginning to make me feel like I was losing some riding skills or something. I probably just have to keep at her and she’ll improve. It was like she was a different horse today! I sprayed down both of the horses after I was done riding and as soon as I let them go they both went and rolled. You can see some ‘caught in action’ shots in my album. The camera I was using is truly awesome. It feels good to know I’m making progress with her. I know most of you won’t know what I’m talking about… but I’ve been trying to get her to ride more into the bridle. When you ride a horse into the bridle, they drop their head down and bend, and all the impulsion starts to come from their hind legs. You can feel the difference and it helps to make their actions more supple. I’ve gotten her to do it but only for short periods of time before she picks her head back up and goes more on the forehand. But still, she’s improving.

Oh yeah. I got bitten by a huge horsefly today. I got out of the shower and the boy asked what happened to my back… he showed me and theres a big purple bruise-ish looking spot. It hurts :( That horsefly was an asshole.

I’m still contemplating my hair tomorrow.

That is all.
